Next Generation Shooters
We have entered the golden age of first person shooters. With anticipated titles such as Bio shock, Halo 3, and Half Life 2 episode 2, theirs no need for us players to fell left out.
Thanks to the next generation, we can look forward to see a new feature that was limited due to the previous generation’s capacity.
Valve has already upgraded their source engine to run on a multi thread core processor to take full advantage of the system. This can be to streaming landscape, AI, sound, and so on. Already, companies like turtle rock studios (Creator Of several counter strike titles such as “condition zero” and bots) are taking full of advantage with the future release title, “Left For Dead”.
The most promising title for me will have to be Halo 3 that will soon be in our grasp. Microsoft must have milked a lot of money to keep halo 3 going along smoothly. We can only hope that it will live up to our expectations like it did with Halo 1. But everyone’s question for Halo 3 will have to be, “What the hell does that x button do?!”
Will the next Generation give us what we want? That’s the biggest question of all. But without a doubt, everything will certainly be interesting.
