A few days back we’d informed you about the launch of GTA and Rockstar’s usage of Steam for Digital Distribution.
Now that the game has released, its said to be full of glitches and bugs ranging from scratched graphics, to server downtimes leading to the Multiplayer part to being useless !
Rockstar has officiall responded to this in a very funny manner. Not only does Rockstar show that they shouldn’t develop PC games period, but they also openly flaunt their obvious ignorance and apparent delusion to the matter.
Check out :
Hey guys,
We are aware that a small number of fans are having problems running GTA IV on their PC’s and we would like to assure them we are working to help solve these as quickly as possible.
We would ask anyone that is encountering difficulties to contact their local technical support helpline for advice and recommendations. These telephone numbers can be found in the game’s manual.
There is also a regularly updated technical support page available on the Rockstar Games website http://www.rockstargames.com/support/ where there are many useful faqs and information on how to resolve some common problems being encountered.
Thanks,

According to various reports, its now confirmed that Fear 2 has beed banned in Australia.
Australian gamers are once again forbidden to enjoy a great game as F.E.A.R. 2 has been given the axe via the Australian Censor Board as “Refused Classification”.
The strict standards provided by the Australian censor board has led to banning of other games too which included Silent Hill: Homecoming, Shellshock 2: Blood Trails, Dark Sector, and Fallout 3.
This ban means that its illegal to sell or even bring into the country. In Australia, the highest rating available for a game is MA15+, as opposed to other forms of media, such as film or DVDs, which have an R18+ classification that prohibits sales to anyone under the age of 18.
The reasons stated for the ban was its “high-impact violence”.
Here’s what the Board report has to say :
“The violence is considered highly impactful in such scenes as where Michael uses his sub machine gun to explicitly bisect an enemy, the two parts of the body lying separately on the ground, with copious blood spray. There are also a number of explicit close range decapitations involving both human and mutant creatures. The decapitations are the result of close-up throat slashing from behind and close-up gunshots to the throat”
Warner Bros. Interactive is said to appeal against this decision to ensure that this game gets released in Australia ! Lets wait and watch…..

PC Game Makers these days constantly keep on improvising and strengthening their security techniques inorder to prevent piracy. With the PC Release of GTA coming close, Crackers are all set to break its protection system.
Official information is out regarding GTA IV’s Security System.
GTA IV PC uses SecuROM for protecting our EXE until street date has passed, to ensure the retail disk is in the computer drive, and is used for Product Activation of the title. Product Activation is a one time only online authentication when installing the game. GTA IV has no install limits for the retail disc version of the game, and that version can be installed on an unlimited number of PCs by the retail disk owner.

Half life, the most popular FPS game has just turned 10 recently. The Half Life Series has been PC exclusive for many years and has undergone tremendous improvements.
Half Life was launched in 1998 and gained instant recognition. Half Life gained popularity cause of its great graphics and gameplay engine which was a heavily modified verion of a popular game Quake, called GoldSrc.
Half Life got almost 10/10 rating on most gaming sites. It also won over 50 Game of the Year Awards, and birthed a franchise with over 20 million units sold to date.
To celebrate the success of the game, Steam is offering Half Life for just 99 Cents instead of the regular $9.99 !
Did you like this post?Tabula Rasa is an MMORPG released around an year back on Oct 30, 2007. The game is an RPG that blends certain shooter aspects into the combat system.
There are quite a few who got hooked on to the game. This game requires monthly subscriptions.
Some info of this game for those who are still unaware :
Tabula Rasa is about humanity’s last stand against a group of aliens called “The Bane”. The story takes place in the near future on two planets, Arieki and Foreas, which will be in a state of constant conflict between the AFS (Allied Free Sentients) and The Bane. The term tabula rasa means scraped tablet or clean slate in Latin, referring to a fresh start, or starting over.
But the real story is that this game will no longer be Online now. Richard Garriot game’s creator will be shutting it down in Febuary 2009.
Coincidently it’ll be shutting down alongside with Hellgate: London, which too was an over hyped MMORPG.

Grand Theft Auto, the hugely popular 3rd Person Shooter game will soon have its next major release for the PC. GTA IV was previously launched for the PS3 and the X360, the PC launch however was delayed owing to development issues.
Well now the wait finally seems to be over, and GTA IV will be soon ready for a PC release.
For the first time, Rockstar has decided to use the Digital Distribution system for its GTA Series. GTA IV will be Digitally Distributed via Steam. Steam if you remember is the pivotal system for distribution of games such as Half Life, Counter Strike and the rest of its series.
Steam now handles distrubution of a lot of games and the list just keeps increasing every year.

5. Doom - The first game of one of the most popular series ever. This game gave us the first networked multiplayer gameplay
4. Quake – After Doom, not many people expected ID software to come up with Quake. This game provided us with a 3D engine, Internet Play and most importantly Team play.
3. Tribes - This game was truly ahead of its time and debuted with some incredible features that had never been seen before. Jetpacks and physics engine for realistic flight, huge outdoor maps that leveraged height as well as distance. This game also gave us 32 players server

Battlefield 1942, Battlefield, Battlefield 2142 and now Battlefield: Bad Company. Battlefield 1942 was a big hit while Battlefield and Battlefield 2142 were at par with the original Battlefield but now Battlefield: Bad Company from EA which is totally different from the previous Battlefield games. In the earlier version of Battlefield, players had to capture points to reduce ticker but this time around it’s different, totally different! This time gamers’ play the game for money in a multiplayer match that is fast, simple and rewarding. This mode is called Gold Rush, where there are 2 teams – attackers and defenders. Every map has some gold crates; the attackers have to destroy these gold crates while defenders will have to defend it. Simple isn’t it? Since attackers die more than defenders in this game, there is more reinforcement for the attackers.
The more crates the attackers destroy, the more reinforcement they get. The multiplayer version of Battlefield: Bad Company is in beta mode so only two maps are available – Ascension and Oasis. There are also some new special gadgets in Battlefield: Bad Company – Tracer Dart Pistol, Mortar Strike, and Motion Sensor. Not much details is known about them but EA says that gamers’ will have to shell out extra money so that they can get access to these special weapons in the game!
Did you like this post? The Worst Violent games of all times
Here are the most violent games of all time!
5. Custer’s Revenge
Platform – Atari 2600
This game is a very unique one. It is one of the oldest game to give on-screen nudity a try. This game uses rape as its gameplay. Quite Violent I will say! Parents should make sure their children stay away from these kinds of games.
4. Night Trap
Platform – PC/Mac/3DO/DS
Night Trap caused controversy in US and Australia primarily. It’s a horror movie copy – a house, girls clad in revealing dress and a group of killers that only you can defeat. Surprisingly the PC and 3DO version did not have any such controversy

3. Carmageddon
Platform - PC
In this racing game you had two ways to win a race. Just reach the finish line or be the first one to kill all the pedestrians on the street. The OFLC passed this game as a “MA15+” rating still the highest for any game!
2. Third Kill
Platform – PS1
It’s totally different when a Government bans a game and when a publisher bans a game. That was the fate of this four player playstation 1 game which was banned by EA saying that this game is “senselessly violent”.
1. Manhunt
Platform – PC
The manufacture of GTA series, Rockstar produced this game which shows the dark side of them. This game was initially passed by OFLC in October 2003 but later on due to government pressure it was refused classification in September 2004
Did you like this post?10. Brain Age 2
Platform – Nintendo DS
Mike Smith of Yahoo! Games says “Whether or not you buy into the hype that playing this game will actually improve your brain, it’s still one of the DS’s most charming titles — and it’s got plenty of competition on that front.”
9. Super Mario Galaxy
Platform –Wii
Cody Winn of Deeko says “Any complaints I have with the game, well, they’re so minute that I can’t even remember them at this point”

8. Assassin’s Creed
Platform-X360/PS3
Dana Jongewaard of GameTap says “So is Assassin’s Creed as awesome as I wanted it to be? No. But it’s a game that attempts a lot of major development moves and it shows a lot of promise, even if it isn’t always executed well.”
7. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Platform- Nintendo DS
Jeremy Parish of 1Up says “Look beyond the cheaply-made anime and the overblown collectible tie-ins, though, and you’ll find that the foundation upon which the whole endeavor has been constructed is an enjoyable and often addictive RPG with a fantastic social element.”
6. Need For Speed:Pro Street
Platform - PS2/PS3/PSP/X360/Wii/DS/PC
Steve Hogarty of CVG- “Sure, there are far worse driving games than this one, but in terms of the Need For Speed series, this is a dud note.”
5. Madden NFL 08
Platform - PS2/PS3/PSP/X360/Wii/GC/DS/PC/XBX
Richard Grisham of GamesRadar says “It may be the only NFL choice once again this season for the PS2, but at least it does the Madden name justice with its smooth play, wide range of features old and new, ridiculously in-depth franchise options, and online games.”
4. FIFA Soccer 08
Platform - PS2/PS3/PSP/X360/Wii/DS/PC
Dan Leahy of GameSpy says“Looks, as they say, aren’t everything and FIFA 08 on the PS2 demonstrates this perfectly. Spot-on control, great atmosphere, more features than ever and balanced gameplay should send this one to the back of any soccer fan’s net.”
3. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Platform - PS2/PS3/X360/Wii/PC
Justin Leeper of GamesRadar says “Guitar Hero is still the best of the best when it comes to music and party games.”
2. Halo 3
Platform - X360 Exclusive
Gus Mastrapa of The Onion A.V. Club says “Nobody does this kind of online gaming better. The sheer variety of play offered out of the box is staggering.”

1. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Platform – Nintendo DS/X360/PS3/PC
Steve Hogarty of CVG says “…Call of Duty 4 expands on the series mightily. Its Middle Eastern and Russian locales, while still linear, feel far more open than the ruined streets of Occupied France ever were, and every mission contains at least one sweet chunk of surprise and delight.”

Did you like this post? The author of the blog nihilogic has released a JavaScript version of Mario which weighs in at only 14kb. The Game is Confined to only one JavaScript file. The Guy has done a very good job. No External image is used and even MIDI music is embedded ,though it does not seem to work in either IE 6 or 7 and has few glitches in Opera ,Firefox and Safari.

Few things are missing though, there are no mushrooms and there is only one incomplete level and the most important thing. I played the MIDI Music version of this game and the music did not work for me (I am using the latest version of Firefox) and the biggest setback, if you die once refresh the page and start playing the game once again. Also the game has been compressed with YUI Compressor and then only it weighs in 14kb,the uncompressed version weighs 35Kb.There were no performance issue for me like the game slowing down or anything in either Opera or Firefox but the author said that Safari does gets a performance boost thanks to the latest WebKit. Check the Orignal Source to know more and play this game.
