1. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

The sequel of Rainbow Six: Vegas is finally here but a few weeks late for the PC platform. The orignal Rainbow Six: Vegas was a surprise hit and Ubisoft then quickly came out with its sequel. The console version was launched last month and has already sold 2 million copies worldwide. The old game followed a story of Las Vegas being captured by terrorists and this one follows on similar lines. Rainbox Six: Vegas 2 also has a new character named Bishop which is customizable in the same way the multiplayer characters were in the Multiplayer Mode of Rainbow Six: Vegas.

2. Okami

3. Gran Turismo: Prologue

This has to be the BIG one. Playstation 3 owners were waiting for this game for a long time and finally its here. The HD gaming experience is going to be really awesome with this game.

4. Quake – After Doom, not many people expected ID software to come up with Quake. This game provided us with a 3D engine, Internet Play and most importantly Team play.

3. Tribes - This game was truly ahead of its time and debuted with some incredible features that had never been seen before. Jetpacks and physics engine for realistic flight, huge outdoor maps that leveraged height as well as distance. This game also gave us 32 players server

2. Counter Strike – The favourite game of nearly everyone out there. Still as much popular as it was launched, this game gave us tactical gameplay for the masses. This game was able to provide fast paced action with strategic and realistic gameplay.

1. Battlefield – This game provided the gamers’ with such vehicle gameplay that no other game has been able to provide till now and this get better with new instalments in the series. The command structure that EA implemented into Battlefield makes the game perfect for creating teams around players who can specialize in any number of things, from commanding to specific battle skills to pilots. This game also provided us with 64 player servers.

Battlefield 1942, Battlefield, Battlefield 2142 and now Battlefield: Bad Company. Battlefield 1942 was a big hit while Battlefield and Battlefield 2142 were at par with the original Battlefield but now Battlefield: Bad Company from EA which is totally different from the previous Battlefield games. In the earlier version of Battlefield, players had to capture points to reduce ticker but this time around it’s different, totally different! This time gamers’ play the game for money in a multiplayer match that is fast, simple and rewarding. This mode is called Gold Rush, where there are 2 teams – attackers and defenders. Every map has some gold crates; the attackers have to destroy these gold crates while defenders will have to defend it. Simple isn’t it? Since attackers die more than defenders in this game, there is more reinforcement for the attackers.

The more crates the attackers destroy, the more reinforcement they get. The multiplayer version of Battlefield: Bad Company is in beta mode so only two maps are available – Ascension and Oasis. There are also some new special gadgets in Battlefield: Bad Company – Tracer Dart Pistol, Mortar Strike, and Motion Sensor. Not much details is known about them but EA says that gamers’ will have to shell out extra money so that they can get access to these special weapons in the game!

This game is a very unique one. It is one of the oldest game to give on-screen nudity a try. This game uses rape as its gameplay. Quite Violent I will say! Parents should make sure their children stay away from these kinds of games.

4. Night Trap

Night Trap caused controversy in US and Australia primarily. It’s a horror movie copy – a house, girls clad in revealing dress and a group of killers that only you can defeat. Surprisingly the PC and 3DO version did not have any such controversy

3. Carmageddon

In this racing game you had two ways to win a race. Just reach the finish line or be the first one to kill all the pedestrians on the street. The OFLC passed this game as a “MA15+” rating still the highest for any game!

2. Third Kill

It’s totally different when a Government bans a game and when a publisher bans a game. That was the fate of this four player playstation 1 game which was banned by EA saying that this game is “senselessly violent”.

The manufacture of GTA series, Rockstar produced this game which shows the dark side of them. This game was initially passed by OFLC in October 2003 but later on due to government pressure it was refused classification in September 2004

8. Assassin’s Creed

Dana Jongewaard of GameTap says “So is Assassin’s Creed as awesome as I wanted it to be? No. But it’s a game that attempts a lot of major development moves and it shows a lot of promise, even if it isn’t always executed well.”

“Mass Effect” is already available on Xbox 360.Reports suggest that “Mass Effect” will have a new heads up display thus allowing players access to individual squad command, biotic powers and abilities and weapon command interface-all on one monitor. Few things are missing though, there are no mushrooms and there is only one incomplete level and the most important thing. I played the MIDI Music version of this game and the music did not work for me (I am using the latest version of Firefox) and the biggest setback, if you die once refresh the page and start playing the game once again. Also the game has been compressed with YUI Compressor and then only it weighs in 14kb,the uncompressed version weighs 35Kb.There were no performance issue for me like the game slowing down or anything in either Opera or Firefox but the author said that Safari does gets a performance boost thanks to the latest WebKit.
