LocoRoco 2 - The sequel to the highly original, quirky platformer/puzzle game. Puzzle/Platformer
February 17th:
Petz: Saddle Club - Care for and race your very own horse. Simulation
Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero? - A side-scroller with a unique art style and a quest fit for a hero. Action/RPG
My 2 Cents (or whatever they’re worth): This month is quite lackluster for the PSP. LocoRoco is an interesting game, and unlike any other on the market. It’s not for all tastes however, and should be approached with caution from any gamers looking for a straightforward game. Prinny looks like a cool game, especially since it harkens back to the side-scrolling days of gaming yore.

Taking a cue from the Playstation Portable, SE has designed this Concept Gaming Phone. SE has code named this device as “Game Terminator” which inherits its screen from the PSP 4.3″ 16:9 Widescreen style.
SE plans to make its Future PSP-Phone fully touchscreen along with a Camera and the usual Game Control buttons.
Note that this is just one of the hundred other PSP-Phone concept designs available. This might be a fake or just might turn out to be true !

Did you like this post?April 20th:
Iron Man- Based on the popular Marvel Comics series and the upcoming film. Action-Adventure
My 2 Cents (or whatever they’re worth): Iron Man is literally the only game coming out for the PSP this month. So……yeah. It will either be a decent rental and time killer or it will be garbage. That is all.

We don’t know yet how many Kidz are actually gonna leave games like Burnout and play this, but we’re sure that 9 out of 10 kids will still stick to Mature Rated games ![]()

God of War is an excellent series, and should make a nice translation into the world of handheld gaming. The wait is over for Final Fantasy fans as well, because finally the prequel they have longed for is arriving. Sports fans should also take note, as both MLB titles will surely be enjoyable, as will Pro Evolution Soccer.

The top spot for a PSP game is currently held by Lumines and it seems God of War may very easily beat it this time !

Patapon- A 2d platformer with a stylistic look. Action-Adventure
World Championship Cards- A variety of classic card games. Puzzle
My 2 Cents (or whatever they’re worth): Not a bad month for PSP owners, especially considering the lack of recent software. There really is a game for everyone here. Action lovers should scope out Patapon or Blokus. Those who love puzzle games have decent offerings in both Chessmaster and Championship Cards. Racing enthusiasts also get two nice additions to the library. Lets hope the software drought is over.

January TBA:
Rainbow Islands Evolution- The heroes of the Bubble Bobble franchise in their own adventure. Action-Adventure
My 2 Cents (or whatever they’re worth): Another pretty stark month for PSP owners. Bomberman will be fun, as the series usually is. FlatOut and Pursuit force are probably worth a rental at best.
Did you like this post?December 4th:
Atari Classics Evolved- Play dozens of classic Atari hits. Compilation
Beowulf- Action game based on the hit movie. Action-Adventure
The Golden Compass- Action game based on the children’s novel series. Action-Adventure
December 6th:
Warriors of the Lost Empire- Wreck monsters and slay dragons on a quest for glory. Strategy
December 17th:
MX Vs. ATV: Untamed- Battle it out as one of many off road vehicles. Racing
My 2 Cents (or whatever they’re worth): Wow, it is certainly a waste land out there for PSP games in December. Atari games like Asteroids are always fun, but who hasn’t played these already? Warriors could be a decent strategy title, probably worthy of a rental. I really want to see more solid software for the PSP overall.
Did you like this post?Alright PSP lovers, it’s time to gear up. Heres the 411 on all the PSP games you can expect by November’s turkey filled end.
November 6th-8th
Medal of Honor 2: Heroes- A new addition to the popular WWII shooter franchise. Shooter (1st-Person)
Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice- An action/racing hybrid featuring multiplayer modes and loads of vehicles. Action/Racing
Silent Hill: Origins- The hit survival horror series gets the portable treatment in this all new game. Survival Horror
SOCOM: US Navy Seals: Tactical Strike- Take out some terrorists and other wrong doers in this tactical shooter. Shooter (Squad Based)
November 13th-16th
Beowulf- Adaptation of the new film, based on the legend of Beowulf and Grendel. Action-Adventure
The Simpsons- America’s favorite animated family gets portable. Action Adventure
Sonic Rivals- Sonic and friends outrace and outfight the enemy once again. Action Adventure
WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008- WWE’s grapplers get down and dirty once again, this time in the palm of your hand. (Fighting)
November 20th-21st
Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command- Strategy game set in the Warhammer 40k universe. Strategy
My 2 cents (or whatever they’re worth): The PSP needs more games, period. Silent Hill looks cool, especially if you’re a fan of the series. Pursuit Force looks like it could be pretty cool as a multiplayer title, it might be the wild card this month. The SOCOM series has been pretty solid, squad based shooters can be quite fun. Warhammer as a strategy game might work well, at least worthy of checking out. I don’t want to rant about licensed games, but they typically suck. I expect this from both Beowulf (the movie looks great though) and The Simpsons. The rest are probably safe rentals.

via Manhunt Uncut:
Take Two have decided it is time to sue Jack Thompson for his recent efforts to try and ban Manhunt 2 and GTA IV. In 3 days time (Monday) Jack puts his claim in to ban those games, as mentioned in a previous news post. This has prompted Take Two to launch a pre-emptive attack by petitioning to the ‘United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida’ they seek to stop the game being declared a ‘public nuisance’ under Florida law. Here is a little from the claim:
|
“Thompson has a history of making multiple threats of legal action, whether substantiated or not, both against (Take Two) as well as the retailers who purchase the video games and offer them for sale to the public. Thompson has made such threats again in connection with Manhunt 2 and GTAIV…” |
All i can say is he had it coming to him, he hasn’t even seen the game yet and he is trying to block Manhunt 2 from coming out. Serves him right, i hope they get Jack Thompson declared a ‘public nuisance’ maybe then Take Two will get a break for a while. You may remember the trouble with Canis Canem Edit (Bully) coming out in October 2006, Jack’s claim to ban the game was rejected that just goes to show that his claims are not substantiated, there isn’t even a gun in that game and it was rated a 15 (Teen). Take Two have also said they wish to claim their attorney fees and other costs from Jack, since they have been forced into action by him. Hopefully this is the last we hear from Jack Thompson regarding the matter, although i doubt it.

Last Tuesday (March 6th) IGN put up an article titled ‘AutoLockon #10 Your platform’s got personality issues’. In the article Rus McLaughlin discussed issues about receiving mixed signals between console hardware and software, at the forefront of the article was Manhunt 2.
Article intro:
|
“I don’t know about you, friend, but lately I’m getting mixed signals from Nintendo. I mean, c’mon now… you’ve seen their commercials. Everything about the Wii marketing machine, from the very name onward, politely suggests you gather Mom and dear ol’ Dad, the kids and a few random-yet-friendly strangers into the family room for an all-ages game as wholesome as a fresh coat of extra-white paint on a nunnery wall. But then, last January, Nintendo added a global news channel to the Wii menu options. Okay, that’s a little different. Would’ve liked a continuous news-crawl feature better, but still handy and informative. I approve. One month later, word comes down that Manhunt 2, the sequel to a serial killer sim that rewards your stalking patience with extra-gory gore, will port to the Wii. “ |
It isn’t a particularly interesting read and amongst all the Manhunt 2 information that was released it seemed rather pointless to mention it at the time, but now that the news has once again calmed down I thought I would bring it up.
