NASCAR Kart Racing - Race as cartoon-like versions of your favorite Nascar drivers! Racing
Also This Week:

Disney Sing It! High School Musical 3: Senior Year - Sing along to your favorite HSM 3 tunes! Music
February 24th:
Dead Rising: Chop Til’ You Drop - A port of the popular zombie blasting shopping mall adventure. Action-Adventure
Also This Week:
Tenchu: Shadow Assassins - The team behind the original Tenchu returns with new Wii remote controls! Action-Adventure
My 2 Cents (or whatever they’re worth): This month starts off a bit slow for the Wii, but manages to pick up towards the end. Deadly Creatures looks like an interesting concept that could make for a compelling game, but I would recommend a rental first. This month features a lot of zombie killing! House of the Dead should be a fun game to play with a buddy, but will probably have little to no actual replay value, a solid rental if anything. Onechanbara has been around in Japan for a while, and looks like great quirky fun. The last of the three zombie games is Dead Rising. If you didn’t get a chance to play it a couple years back on the 360, pick it up. It’s a great time. Plus, this version has new costumes, weapons, and features to add to the mix. The last game of any note this month would be Tenchu. The series has certainly grown stale over the years and with the ever changing industry. However, the team behind the original (and excellent) Tenchu is back, and coupled with the Wii motion controls, this could be a great romp in ninja land.

Old-wizard recently listed some top games for the Wii. we too totally agreed with it. So though about letting all GameDevotion readers know about them.
Here you go :
10. Star Wars The Force Unleashed
The most fun to be had in the game is using the force as you continually gain more of its power. Throwing people into walls is immense fun, so much so, you wish you could do it in real life.
9. Excite Truck
The best part about Excite Truck though is its infinite replayability factor. With all the trucks you can use and all the diverse landscapes to be played throughout the game, Excite Truck never becomes tiresome.
8. Tiger Woods PGA Tour
You simply point the Wii Remote toward the floor and hold down the B button to take over the golfer’s movements, then pull back and push forward as if you were swinging a real golf club.
7.Super Paper Mario
When your character is faced with, say, an impossible jump, you can simply “flip” yourself into three dimensions, the result of which is often the opening of a new path, or the emergence of a hidden pipe, etc. It’s a clever twist on the 2-D gameplay of the old Mario games of the Nintendo and Super Nintendo.
6. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
The best part about Corruption though is being able to use the Wii nun chuck as a gun.
5. Mario Kart Wii
The wheel makes you feel like you’re playing Mario Kart in a long forgotten arcade. This is a huge plus for the racing gamer who wants to feel more “in the driver seat”.
4. Wii Bowling
Using the ingenious controller of the Wii, you could bowl in your home while feeling almost like being in a bowling alley.
3. Super Smash Brother Brawl
There is an endless amount of fun to be had with Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Hours upon hours of multiplayer action in games like SSBB makes Wii one of the best multiplayer systems of all time.
2. Twilight Princess
Zelda “Twilight Princess” is one of the greatest games in the entire Zelda series. After playing through the game once, one became aware that Twilight Princess even challenged the original Zelda 1 for the title of “greatest Zelda game of all time”.
1. Super Mario Galaxy
Mario Galaxy is the best video game to be released since the SNES stopped making games. The graphics are breath-taking, showing a depth and imagination not seen in most modern video games.

Today a new system update for the Nintendo Wii Entertainment System was launched. This updates mainly includes Security Fixes. The 3.4 Update disables all Homebrew Support that you have on your Hacked Wii.
This update will remove all Custom Channels that you’ve added using the Homebrew Channels. Along with that, other hacks you made like patched Saved Games will also be deleted. E.g. the twilight hack.
The Homebrew Community (WiiBrew) has issued a notice for all its Channel Users :
“At this time, WiiBrew recommends that you do not update your Wii through Nintendo, as it disables some homebrew (DVDx, PatchMii). Recent reports suggest System Menu 3.4 removes all custom channels.”
For those using the System without any modifications legally, Nintendo has added new features liked enhanced Parental Controls, USB Support for Mii Channel and other system performance updates.
Nintendo has also updated its Update Policy :
“We may without notifying you, download updates, patches, upgrades and similar software to your Wii Console and may disable unauthorized or illegal software placed on your Wii Console to ensure that your Wii Console is operating properly and efficiently, comply with applicable laws, assist law enforcement, protect us and our customers, or prevent the use and distribution of software obtained through improper channels.”
Did you like this post? Those of us hoping for a next-gen version of Punch Out might be getting our appetites fulfilled albeit in a slightly different form. EA’s Facebreaker is an eerily similar idea. It features a similar cartoony style as well as quirky characters, two things that made Punch Out so memorable.
Facebreaker features multiple colorful characters, such as a beastly Russian called Molotov and Romeo an interesting with a…..bulge. These characters and many others seperate Facebreaker from EA’s other big boxing title Fight Night.
One of the really quirky and humorous elements of the game is the damage dealt by punches and its effects on your opponent. All real world physics are completely ignored. Maces become hugely bloated, heads spin completely around, and jaws hang dramatically low.
Quite frankly, Facebreaker looks great. It may not be Punch Out, but its the closest thing we are getting. EA seems determined to make this both a unique and exciting game, that will cross the legendary sport of boxing with the humor of some of the best cartoons. It will be arriving on store shelves in less than two months for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii consoles.
Did you like this post?Nintendo once again topped the chart of the consoles sales with Nintendo Wii selling a staggering 721000 units and Nintendo DS selling 698000 units. The launch of Super Smash Bros further helped the sales of Nintendo Wii. Nintendo Hardware sales represented a total of 58% of the Game Consoles sold in March.

PS3 was a distant third after leading Xbox 360 sales for the first two months this year. Sony PSP sold 297000 units while PS3 sold 257000 units and PS2 sold 216000 units. The PS3 has had a year over year growth of sales of over 98%.Xbox360 finally pulled ahead of PS3 and sold 262000 units. Xbox 360 lagged in terms of sales in the month of January and February against Sony’s PS3 due to supplies problem and with the March sales figure out it looks like the supplies of the retailer is finally being satisfied fully.
Analyst predicts that the sales of PS3 and Xbox360 for the rest of the year would be neck to neck because of the launch of many “exclusive titles” for both the consoles.

1. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

The sequel of Rainbow Six: Vegas is finally here but a few weeks late for the PC platform. The orignal Rainbow Six: Vegas was a surprise hit and Ubisoft then quickly came out with its sequel. The console version was launched last month and has already sold 2 million copies worldwide. The old game followed a story of Las Vegas being captured by terrorists and this one follows on similar lines. Did you like this post? The Worst Violent games of all times
Here are the most violent games of all time!
5. Custer’s Revenge
Platform – Atari 2600
This game is a very unique one. It is one of the oldest game to give on-screen nudity a try. This game uses rape as its gameplay. Quite Violent I will say! Parents should make sure their children stay away from these kinds of games.
4. Night Trap
Platform – PC/Mac/3DO/DS
Night Trap caused controversy in US and Australia primarily. It’s a horror movie copy – a house, girls clad in revealing dress and a group of killers that only you can defeat. Surprisingly the PC and 3DO version did not have any such controversy

3. Carmageddon
Platform - PC
In this racing game you had two ways to win a race. Just reach the finish line or be the first one to kill all the pedestrians on the street. The OFLC passed this game as a “MA15+” rating still the highest for any game!
2. Third Kill
Platform – PS1
It’s totally different when a Government bans a game and when a publisher bans a game. That was the fate of this four player playstation 1 game which was banned by EA saying that this game is “senselessly violent”.
1. Manhunt
Platform – PC
The manufacture of GTA series, Rockstar produced this game which shows the dark side of them. This game was initially passed by OFLC in October 2003 but later on due to government pressure it was refused classification in September 2004
Did you like this post?10. Brain Age 2
Platform – Nintendo DS
Mike Smith of Yahoo! Games says “Whether or not you buy into the hype that playing this game will actually improve your brain, it’s still one of the DS’s most charming titles — and it’s got plenty of competition on that front.”
9. Super Mario Galaxy
Platform –Wii
Cody Winn of Deeko says “Any complaints I have with the game, well, they’re so minute that I can’t even remember them at this point”

8. Assassin’s Creed
Platform-X360/PS3
Dana Jongewaard of GameTap says “So is Assassin’s Creed as awesome as I wanted it to be? No. But it’s a game that attempts a lot of major development moves and it shows a lot of promise, even if it isn’t always executed well.”
7. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Platform- Nintendo DS
Jeremy Parish of 1Up says “Look beyond the cheaply-made anime and the overblown collectible tie-ins, though, and you’ll find that the foundation upon which the whole endeavor has been constructed is an enjoyable and often addictive RPG with a fantastic social element.”
6. Need For Speed:Pro Street
Platform - PS2/PS3/PSP/X360/Wii/DS/PC
Steve Hogarty of CVG- “Sure, there are far worse driving games than this one, but in terms of the Need For Speed series, this is a dud note.”
5. Madden NFL 08
Platform - PS2/PS3/PSP/X360/Wii/GC/DS/PC/XBX
Richard Grisham of GamesRadar says “It may be the only NFL choice once again this season for the PS2, but at least it does the Madden name justice with its smooth play, wide range of features old and new, ridiculously in-depth franchise options, and online games.”
4. FIFA Soccer 08
Platform - PS2/PS3/PSP/X360/Wii/DS/PC
Dan Leahy of GameSpy says“Looks, as they say, aren’t everything and FIFA 08 on the PS2 demonstrates this perfectly. Spot-on control, great atmosphere, more features than ever and balanced gameplay should send this one to the back of any soccer fan’s net.”
3. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Platform - PS2/PS3/X360/Wii/PC
Justin Leeper of GamesRadar says “Guitar Hero is still the best of the best when it comes to music and party games.”
2. Halo 3
Platform - X360 Exclusive
Gus Mastrapa of The Onion A.V. Club says “Nobody does this kind of online gaming better. The sheer variety of play offered out of the box is staggering.”

1. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Platform – Nintendo DS/X360/PS3/PC
Steve Hogarty of CVG says “…Call of Duty 4 expands on the series mightily. Its Middle Eastern and Russian locales, while still linear, feel far more open than the ruined streets of Occupied France ever were, and every mission contains at least one sweet chunk of surprise and delight.”

The CEO of Epic games, Tim Sweeny has revealed that a small team of developers has already started working on the Unreal Engine 4 and that it will be more focussed for the Console platform and will not be just tied to the PC platform. The Unreal Engine 4 won’t be exclusively for Consoles only though, a PC version will be there as well.
This may be good news for Console owners after the troublesome Unreal 3 Engine for PS3 but it will all depend on how quickly the Unreal 4 Engine can be optimized for future consoles which are likely to be quite different from each other. No Doubt that Valve and Blizzard make the PC gaming platform unique but consoles are looking quite hard to be stopped with their online gaming and high resolution capabilities
I recently downloaded the original Kid Icarus on the Wii’s virtual console, and to be honest, I was a bit disappointed. The game has a relatively large following, as a cult hit and a retro gem, but the game really isn’t very good, even by 80s gaming standards. However, the characters and creatures, as well as the basic ideas behind the game are interesting. With Pit, the main protagonist, receiving an updated look for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, there was never a better time than now to remake this game.
What needs to stay:
What needs to change:
What needs to be added:
With these changes, a new Kid Icarus game could prove to be a great new franchise for Nintendo. Imagine the cool environments and Greek Pantheon storyline, but with a child like quality that only Nintendo could supply. Now is the perfect time for this game, both with Pit’s first role in years and with the popularity of “swords and sandals” epics. Add some awesome Wii remote flight controls, and voila! A winning combination to be sure.
For the curious, here’s a look at the original Kid Icarus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSfS9w9_0kg
And here’s a look at Pit in Super Smash Bros. Brawl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EoJhfmVPZk

Some leaked ScreenShots surfaced some days back. You can check them here : sonicstadium.org

My 2 Cents (or whatever they’re worth): This month is all about one title. This game will be your best friend on the Wii for some time, and if you don’t own it yet, go to a place where video games are bought, sold, or rented, and buy it…..or rent it….and love it. That game is Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This game has so many rewarding aspects, from an awesome single player or co-op adventure mode, to its incredible multiplayer matches. It is quite simply one of the best games ever made. If you are a fan of video games, or Nintendo, or of having fun, get this game. You will not be disappointed.

At first Super Smash Bros. Brawl did look promising but little did we expect that this game will become the the fastest-selling game in Nintendo history.
Nintendo said today that it sold over 1.4 million copies of Brawl in its first week of availability, including around 875,000 copies on the day of release, March 9.
That rounds up to around 120 copies per minute !!!
Theres no doubt that Brawl will surpass the previous all time Top Selling Game Super Smash Bros. Melee which sold around 7 Million Copies till date !

If you think you’ve had enough of Wii Accessories then think again….
There’s yet another accessory (read: Wiimote holder) for the console. This time it’s a CrossBow. But, its not just any run of the mill crossbow, this one my friend, comes with a Laser sight so you can also use it for blinding you’re next door neighbour
This Plastic Crossbow is priced at around 28$. Buy it if playing Links Crossbow Training is the only thing you do these days, cause I can’t think of any other game that uses a Crossbow !
If you still want to waste 28$ head over to dealextreme.com and buy it !
Did you like this post?At the Game Developers Conference (GDC) a few days back Nintendo shared some information on its “Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Pay And Play” Service. Online Gaming is a very integral part of any Console these days. Microsoft has showed us with its Live that how simple and fun Online Multiplayer gaming could be !
As for the Wii, Nintendo plans to make some games require individual subscriptions to play online, which will be paid in what is called as Wii Points. This sucks big time ! They should just follow the Microsoft way and have a single subscription or go the PS3 way of Free Online Play !
For other downloadable content, Developers will be able to sell content for both disc based games and WiiWare titles, through an in-game interface.
And about WiiWare, a service which allows you to Download Entire games (again payment made in WiiPoints) which currently includes “Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King” and “LostWinds”. To save space the Game Files will be compressed when not in use and all Manuals will be accessed Online.

My 2 Cents (or whtever they’re worth): February is not a fantastic month for Wii owners, but does offer a few decent options. Fishing on the Wii will more than likely be a lot of fun, so fishing fans should give that a try. Destroy All Humans is a fun series, so the new additions to this installment should make it even more fun.
